Spring Cleaning

If you are reading this you will have noticed things have changed. I came in here to do just a little cleaning up. Deleting links that are now dead and adding Seth’s new WP Blog. I decided to mess with the theme. I can’t say this is where it will stay, but I wanted one that was a little easier to read. Primarily I like the different links and RSS feeds blocked together. Makes them easy to find.

I was hoping this theme would let me add back the header we had on the other theme, but so far I haven’t figured out how. I want to be able to have a GAP touch to it. So bear with me while I play (that is of course if anybody actually stops by this place).

Just wanted to welcome any of the new people checking out this GAP Connect site. Hope you find it useful and want to get added. I have been enjoying the sites that have been added. Thanks everyone!!!

Got a few minutes?

I would like to invite any GAP’er with the desire to write about anything Game to become a contributor here.  I know that if people like Dajmer - who LOVE to write and has thought about doing so professionally – were to do some writing, we would all benefit.

It is just an open call.  Although you won’t be able to write about anything that is “priviledged”, because of the agreement with Sony at the GAP, you CAN write about anything else – and other than topics generally considered to be in bad taste, you can write in your own style, using whatever language suits you.  I would suggest keeping things “semi-professional” – we don’t want “one bad apple” and the like – but your name will be on what you write regardless of its tone, language or innuendo.

I have added this little entry to every category we currently have (at 0935h EDT on August 08, 2008 ) but it isn’t set in stone. 

Think about it.

It has been a great start

The stats have shown a drop though in readership and views.  I guess the honeymoon is over.  LOL  For the most part it is understandable.  Once the newness has faded (and it does fade quickly doesn’t it?) it is expected to see less visitors.

I guess that is the reason for this post.  I have been looking around the site and I think this is a great place for outside the GAP interactions but I can’t discount the anonymity of being online.  Perhaps that is why we get a lot of readers and not much in terms of comments or posts.

I apologize for not posting anything in here.  I am getting used to the idea of posting for all my GAP buddies without the constraints of it being a Sony sanctioned site.

This place is here for you though GAP members.  Please if you want something other blog plugs or personal site plugs, feel free to drop a comment here with some suggestions.  I have been messing around with the themes and I guess it is something we Caretakers never talked about.  How fluid do we want the Theme and banner?  I liked the black theme we had first.  I wanted the Gamer Advisory Panel banner to be something we would recognize immediately.

I guess not all of us have our GAP Cards at the ready though.  LOL  I am a card carrying Sony Elite gamer apparently because I keep my card in my wallet.  =)

So if there is something you want to see in here other than a Social networking hub, blog plugs etc., please leave a comment.

I hope this new post is something that will spark more usage and interaction outside of the Gamer Advisory Panel for us in here.  It has been a great start and I hope to see more GAP Members with a WordPress blog and thank you to those who have been added to the blogroll.  I have so much to read each time I log in and I thank you for that.

Playing with the theme

As you can quickly see I am playing with the theme. I thought this one looked good with the header that E_Dragon added to the site. Of course as soon as I changed the theme the header when away so I ended up having to reload the header. Oops…

So what do you think? I was going to wait for my co-conspirators to give me feedback, but it’s been quiet around here today and I got impatient. It’s just a trial run to see what it looks like. I hope this post saves this time. I have written this twice in Netscape, before remembering I need to use IE. Yeah a little slow…

Banner changes?

Just checking out some stuff here.  I am also looking to add some stuff to this page as well.  I noticed that the blogroll and the links far outweigh the content so I thought I would mess around with the header a bit as well as provide a place for you to comment on the theme, the background and yes the Header that I just uploaded.  Fear not, if it is not working for you, we can easily revert back to the original header that you have grown to love.  =)

So comment on the theme, the header I just uploaded, the background.  If you are a WP person already, what Themes have you tried that might help with the black background which personally I really like.  Not all do so I wanted to see how things go.

My head will be waiting on a platter for those of you who don’t like the current one, my lap (for the ladies) and open pockets are ready for the adulation that will follow.  LOL

GAP Game Nights

First of all, let me thank TKKN for allowing us to link to his YouTube Playlist that highlights what you can see when you spectate a GAP Game Night.  You will see for the most part what TKKN sees but you will not be able to hear the chatter that makes the night so much more enjoyable than just gaming online with friends.

We now have 16 GAP’ers linked in.  That is awesome.  I am glad to see that awareness – and traffic – of GAP’ers WordPress blogs has gone up.

I hope that eventually all of the GAP’ers who have WP blogs will venture in, say hi, and get linked in.  I am surprised that we haven’t got a single “commercial” link yet.  I am really hoping that more links like the PSN, Clan and Ladder sites, Developer sites and all sorts of good things show up.
